Why Model U.N.?
Student's experiences in Middle School undoubtedly sets the foundation for their high school and college careers. Middle School Model U.N. ensures that students are introduced to public speaking, leadership, and research skills that will serve them a lifetime. Throughout their participation in Model U.N. students will learn about current events and world politics, all while being introduced the power of collaboration and dialogue - skills that will benefit them far beyond their academic lives.
Our Mission:
All of us at Middle School MUN believe that access to a space where students can learn, debate and compromise is crucial to their development. We hope to continue expanding our network, both in public and private schools, to ensure that every student has that access, no matter where they go to school.
Testimonials From Model United Nations Members
"I can proudly say that Model UN has made me into the person I am today. When I joined the club at the beginning of Sophomore year, I had no idea what to expect, as well as how to deal with my crippling fear of speaking in public. This club taught me how to move outside of my comfort zone and take risks. I’ve been able to attain a more global view of world events and figure out ways to help the less fortunate. With Model UN, I am stronger, more confident, and have made friends at every conference I’ve attended. Becoming more self-aware and more knowledgeable is something I can hold in my heart forever.”
- Joanne Gotanco, Class of '19
“ Model UN has allowed me to become a better public speaker, gain leadership skills and the self confidence skills that I will need in my future This club has also taught me not to give up no matter how hard and impossible something may seem, and if I really want something I have to put in all the time, effort, and energy needed to make that dream a reality.”
- Abby Bossa, Class of '19
"Model United Nations has been an incredible experience that I have been proud to be a part of for the past year. I have developed strong public speaking skills, learned how to collaborate with others, and regained my confidence because of this impactful club."
-Erin Seidman, Class of '21
"MUN has helped me become more aware of global politics and is one of the few programs that can give students the opportunity to do so. Being aware of global politics in a country like America, where everything is very self-centered, is important. MUN is a place where one can learn and have fun all at the same time. I’m sure MUN will help me in my college admissions process and in future life."
